Forest Home.

I created this artwork after spending time in Takayna, also known as the Tarkine in the North West of Tasmania. In this area a tragedy is unfolding, as well as in many other areas in Lutruwita/Tasmania. Home to the endangered Tasmanian Devil, an iconic and shy endemic creature, these forests are being destroyed to make wood chips that are sent overseas. I spent time in a partially logged area, chained to a vehicle in Takayna in an attempt to stop the ongoing destruction. Unfortunately this area remains under threat and many activists continue to try to prevent its destruction.

This is a print from an original artwork by Tracy Colhoun, a Tasmanian artist with a deep love of nature and a passion for conserving the beautiful world around us.

It is printed in Tasmania on fine art epson paper using Epson Ultrachrome HD inks.
